I can imagine the trouble that the Arsenal squad are having motivating themselves for the rest of the season, I’m having the same ‘lack of care’ about it.
This week has been especially quiet, except for the youths losing to Man Utd on Monday night, and Wenger talking about wanting a reserve team in the Football League, which I disagree with – undoubtedly the team would succeed but it’s a tricky one to organise – currently all clubs are distinct, but if the first team has a bunch of injuries can they call them up from the B team?
Anyway, looking forward, and it’s West Ham at the weekend, with a chance to avenge the late defeat at Upton Park on the cards, alongside a battle of the misfit South American strikers. Gunnerblog suggeststhat Arsenal would be better poised with the Argentinian in place of the out-of-sorts Baptista, but I’m not so sure that Tevez would fit – perhaps he could lead the line ahead of Van Persie but I don’t see a partnership with Henry there. I’m happy to be proved wrong.
Roll on the weekend.
