The 3-1 win over Fulham on Sunday left me about as flat as wins ever do. Sure, it didn’t mean much, but the performance epitomised everything that has been wrong with our season. Missing chances, conceding to a rare threat, but at least Adebayor and Fabregas continued to be superb. Those two are driving the team forward almost single handedly at the moment, although special mentions should be made for the improving Clichy and Hleb, who is trying his best to prove some of us wrong.
Congratulations to the ladies, who needed a bit of a rearguard action but completed their superb European triumph to ensure that they won absolutely everything this season.

I’ve never been a fan of Jose Mourinho, but his rants are getting more and more ridiculous, and increasingly desperate too. Claiming that Chelsea were the better side last night was daft, and following it up by saying that his side were the only team attempting to win made him look absolutely stupid. Liverpool had the bulk of the chances, scored the goal, scored another, hit the bar, and had the best of a very cagey game.
Today, he’s at it again, blaming the loss of the quadruple on injuries. Oh, boo hoo. Man Utd have stretched their lead since their defensive crisis, and here at the Emirates we’ll have no sympathy for a team losing their best players. With hundreds of millions available, strength in depth should be a given.
I suspect he may keep his job this summer, and have one more stab at the Champions League.
In other news, Andy Townsend proved me right with his comments that the linesman had to flag Kuyt offside because ‘the defence should be given the benefit of the doubt’. Somebody give that man a rulebook for Christmas. Or a P45.
Man Utd were poor tonight, Gattuso looked superb. Milan have to be favourites for the final.
I really hope Cole plays on Sunday. I have in my mind the perfect weekend, but I might share that with you tomorrow.
