Can i just point out that Ngog has scored 5 goals in 6 starts for Liverpool and can't get on the pitch, I always chuckle about our squad being criticised. The media love to slag us off yet we have a very experienced second eleven, Voronin scored at a ratio of 1 goal in 2 at Hertha Berlin last season. Torres and Gerrard only played together 14 times last season in the league yet we finished top scorer's, the reason was our squad stood up like it will this season.

Brian, I did watch the game, and I stated that Liverpool played reserves and youths. They did. That they had strength on the bench is irrelevant.

Of their starting XI, only Carragher and Mascherano could claim to be regular first teamers, plus Aurelio and Riera in and out. Otherwise, it was the backup team. Some of them weren't youngsters, but we do that too - Senderos and Silvestre playing.

Bear in mind that when we went to Liverpool two and a half years ago and scored six, it was a Liverpool side containing Hyypia, Gerrard, Fowler and Bellamy. It was probably a stronger side than against Leeds last week.

Makes encouraging reading but un-fortunately this article is way off the mark.If the writer had watched Liverpool against Leeds in the last round he would have seen them field a very strong team with only a couple of young players together with a bench which included Gerrard,Torres and one or two others of first team quality. If they do this again as they probably will and if Wenger plays roughly the same team as last week then we are in for an almighty hiding putting a few things into perspective.A home tie against a Championship team is one thing but this is totally different and could easily see a repeat of a five nil beating by Chelsea at Highbury a few years ago.
